Obama's Blind Spot On Race and The Democrat Party's Racist Past

Very interesting. I had heard about Rezko, and do not doubt that something untoward has happened there. I believe Clinton is dirtier, hence I have blogged in opposition to her; in either case, there should be plenty of ammunition for McCain when the Democrats select their candidate.
I'm with you on all you said. I thank God this all came out before either got in the White House. I'm old fashioned I suppose but I truly think that position should only be held by someone of great honor and integrity with a desire to serve our country with a deep respect for that office and for what is best for our country.

In the Clinton years I was so discouraged because of all of the unhandedness that came with them. I knew it was a disgrace upon us as a country to allow that kind of character into our White House and the job of the President of our country.

I desire true men of great character like those of our founding fathers. I also desire that same character for the seats in our Congress and the House of Representatives.

I try to do as much research as I can when faced with who will lead our country. While I do not have a specific party affiliation, I try to learn as much as I can. I ran across this article you posted. And I must say, I found it disturbing.

I have moved to be an Obama supporter. While I respect John McCain's integrity, I don't feel confident in his views on Iraq or his self-proclaimed lack of knowledge of the economy. And I tried to be open to Hillary, but have found her to be divisive and a "player." So this article is unsettling. But any education to help us make informed decisions as we look forward is helpful.

The Juan Williams, NPR interview was particurlary interesting. I have wondered how Obama could sit and listen as his minister is "a key supporter of Louis Farrakhan and last month honored the Nation of Islam leader for lifetime achievement" (http://www.newsmax.com/).

So in the end, I don't know where I will stand. I can only pray that whom we have lead us, will lead us to peace and prosperity and an ethical way of living and one that extends beyond "me."

Thank you for posting this. It's not material I like to read. But that doesn't matter. Heads in the sand will gain nothing.
I read your comment right earlier today and I've waited to reply because I wanted to ponder it. 14 hours later, I'm still thinking about your words.

I appreciate you so much. Your heart and your willingness to read something so uncomfortable for you and to consider all truths involved speak volumes of your character.

I'm so thankful for your words and your honesty. I also see in your words that you care deeply for what is best for our country, for us, We the people.

God Bless you Beanie.
I agree..this is a disturbing article on many levels. If i started dissecting the article and my thoughts on it i'd be taking up the whole page lol. I think Obama represents Change for most people and the problem for me has been that he lacks substance. For the most part he talks the talk but i haven't seem him walk the walk. He says things.. but then doesn't follow up with explaining his plan of how to get them. So for me it's all just empty promises and you know what happens with those..they ruin a country. And he doesn't explain his past or articulate how his own history and experience shapes who he is today and that is important especially if you are a president. He seems to gloss over everything in my opinion. So to me it is all fluff he is putting out there but obviously he has a lot to speak to and he should be accountable just like everyone else running for president. You have to know what their thought process is on their own lives and experiences.. the good and the bad to know what kind of character they have. I find the whole thing with him to be frightening..those videos etc. And his promise to bring the troops home immediately is just irresponsible especially since he hasn't gotten all the facts or spoken to the stakeholders. Has he even gone to Iraq? Or Afghanistan? Very disturbing indeed.

(And as far as McCain is concerned. I hope he gets a running mate that is a businessman and a good one at that).

"So in the end, I don't know where I will stand. I can only pray that whom we have lead us, will lead us to peace and prosperity and an ethical way of living and one that extends beyond "me."" > here here!

Either way, whom ever we get as president will undoubtedly fuck us. the economy is in a horrible state, these presidential runners are a joke and definitely suspect. keep your fingers cross in your faith strong that we will somehow choose the right candidate, but also keep a jar of Vaseline to ease the penetration when we get fuck. Honestly due to the way the electoral system is set up it doesn't matter who you or we as a people want in office it is already chosen and the rest is just for ratings...which leads to my above statement of keeping that jar handy.

H. I., I fully agree. Sadly those same people are not the ones who can go out there and fundraise like crazy, usually. This latest campaign shows that—the system does not work if it is “the richest is also the loudest”. It would be nice if all the candidates personally put all their positions on Americans’ most pressing issues into one website, and everyone went there to consider who would be best for them.
However, that also presupposes that voters know what is best—my father is a proponent of “one family, one vote”, encouraging families to come together to discuss the issues that will affect them, rather than the “I’ll vote for who gives me the most money” approach that some voters take. It’s unlikely to happen, even though he and I usually discuss our joint approach and we vote the same.
Rudeboi, I wish I could say, ‘What cynicism!’ but I agree with you. Whom you have as your likely president out of the three choices doesn’t encourage me a heck of a lot, and that includes Sen. McCain. When the choice comes down to “the least of three evils”, then it is not much of a choice at all.
Yes Jack the richest and the loudest is the problem. We do have some good men (Veterans) running for congressional seats. We do have one running against Murtha, but from what I understand Murtha is pulling dirty tricks to keep this man off the ballot and also people in Murtha's district are afraid of Murtha causing them to loose their jobs. So, as disturbing as it is, Murtha is intimidating people in his district.

But Snooper has the perfect solution: At least 1000 people in Murtha's district write in Col. Russell's name on the ballot.

Hey I just decided I'm going to start a group tonight with information on true conservatives running for offices.
