Oklahoman’s Stand Together With Sally Kern as Seen Through My Eyes
My plan was to arrive early at the Oklahoma Statehouse. I turned the corner on Lincoln and N.W. 23rd and was thrilled to see so many people there already. I wondered how many would get to go because of it being a work day with many not able to attend because of their work schedules. I also had been told by many they were disappointed they would not be able to attend because of work. To my surprise I had to park 3 blocks away because so many people had already arrived.
There are many parking lots around the statehouse and other state offices, so I knew at this point there was going to be a great turnout in support of Sally Kern; in support of stopping the homosexual agenda that is being forced on us and our children in public education.
As I walked toward the statehouse I noticed people driving around looking for parking spaces, but what stood out to me were the smiles on people’s faces. They were glad to stand with Sally Kern. They were glad to stand up for Christ Jesus and not tolerate the silencing by the politically correct folks who are trying to change the history and direction of our great state and nation.
As I came closer to the statehouse I seen a thick line of people waiting to get in, I was watching more vehicles (cars, buses, church vans, etc.) looking for parking. I got in line and many more people keep coming and getting in line to go through security and proceed to the rotunda. As I was standing in line I made some new friends and I noticed how friendly everyone was with each other. There were very young to elderly folks there and excitement filled us all. As we proceeded towards the building I noticed some security workers directing some folks to another entrance. Which later I learned that line was just as long and thick as the one I was in.
When I arrived at the rotunda on the first floor it was already packed with people. I visited with some friends and then I went upstairs to get a view of the crowd and observe. In the Oklahoma Statehouse in the center on the first floor is a rotunda. The two floors above have opened rotunda balconies overlooking the Oklahoma State Seal on the first floor.
A new friend and I went up to the second floor. There was a 4-H meeting/luncheon with the banquet tables’ framing the rotunda railing. There were also more Kern supporters on this floor. We slipped in between a couple of tables and watched the peoples below for a bit and then I wanted to go to the third floor to see if more folks from the rally where up there. On the third floor there was an event called “Made in Oklahoma.” And to my delight, there were more supporters on this floor as well.
After a few minutes while I with some others were on the 3rd floor, the program began. We couldn’t hear the words of the speakers because of the noises between the floors. But as soon as I get the full transcript I will post it here.
At an early point in the program someone lead us in the song “God Bless American.” Everyone stood with their right hands over their hearts and was singing, including the 4-H group on the second floor. When the song started they stood up and joined in. About 7 to 8 minutes later someone lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance and again the 4-H teens rose and recited it with us.
Sally Kern and some others spoke, and then I went down to the first floor so I could hear the speakers. The first floor was even more packed. I went to one area where I thought would be the best to hear the speaker. It was an entrance hall that leads into the rotunda. This hall was so packed. Some security guards where keeping isles open for emergency exits as more and more people were coming into the hall. The Security Guards at one point told us to keep these isles open or they’d shut down the event. We did have one security guard open an isle in the center, and then another security guard would tell us to move to the center to leave isles on the sides. This back and forth went on for a bit and then someone spoke to both security guards and told them their instructions were causing confusion and they should work together and so they did.
As I was people watching I noticed the young and the old alike were listening to every word the speakers spoke and they would respond with clapping, smiling, touching another person. Another interesting fact is the crowd was a pleasant and happy crowd. There was no anger, no strife and no complaining. We were all glad that we were there to support Rep. Sally Kern.
Charlie Meadows sent out an excellent review, by email, of the rally and our meeting at Italiano’s, So in closing I give you Charlie’s account.
“After the rally the OCPAC group met at Italiano’s for OCPAC’s regular meeting. Sally Kern brought a guest with her to the meeting. The guest was Mr. Peter LaBarbera, President from Illinois to speak and take a stand with Rep. Sally Kern. At the meeting Peter LaBarbera spoke in much more depth about the homosexual agenda, especially as it relates nation wide.
He also explained how the homosexual agenda indoctrinates our children at
a very young age (6 and below). Through certain behavioral images the children
are taught to equate that behavior with love. The parents of children that
young aren't even thinking about teaching children about sex. By the time they
begin to teach their values or standards of right and wrong, many of those
children have already been lead to believe something different from what mom
and dad are teaching. Parents are you awake yet as to the target that is on the
minds of your young children?
Former State Representative Kevin Calvey was also present to inform us of
a dangerous effort to change Oklahoma's "Code of Judicial Conduct." In
a nut shell, the new code might prohibit an attorney from being or becoming a
judge if they were a member of an organization which had any kind of membership
prohibition against non traditional sexual orientation (especially
homosexuality). Since the boy scouts don't allow homosexuals to be leaders
(thank God the scouts don't want homosexuals taking your little boys into the
woods camping on weekends) or the military that has a policy of "don't
ask, don't
tell," any lawyer who might be affiliated with the scouts or veterans organizations
wouldn't be allowed to become judges.
Along the same lines we found out from Mr LaBarbera that many of the different
state bar associations are including these provisions into their ethics rules
as it seems this movement is being promulgated by
the liberal American Bar Association. I strongly suggest you long on to the
Americans for Truth web site www.americansfortruth.org
and then find the link where they have posted many of the hate e-mails which
were sent to Representative Kern. Read them for yourself and it will be clear
as day that Sally is really about love and redemption and the radical elements
of the homosexuality are the true haters.
Let me just say one final word about this whole affair. Many of the "image
conscience" liberals in Oklahoma are so worried about how the rest of the
nation (the liberal Northeast and the West Coast) are
going to view Oklahoma. They are "afraid" and "embarrassed"
that we will be viewed as Bible thumping, backward hicks in the eyes of the "enlightened
elites" in the other parts of the nation. They are afraid
that some liberal CEOs won't relocate their business to Oklahoma and thus lose
out on a handful of jobs. Also they fear that when they travel to New York or
San Francisco, if anyone finds out they are from
Oklahoma, they will be viewed with condescension.
Actually, I am very pleased (I don't like to use the word proud) to be an
Oklahoman, who on average have higher moral standards than people in some parts
of the U.S. If people want to live in an atmosphere of
debauchery then maybe they should relocate to an area of America in which those
lifestyles are more celebrated. On the other hand, if decent people throughout
America want a place to live where they can
raise a family with wholesome values and enjoy the positive qualities of
Oklahoma, then the good folks of Oklahoma invite you to move here and be our
neighbors.
We also want to thank State Representative George Faught (R-Muskogee) who came to our meeting to speak about the "English as Oklahoma's official language" legislation. I attended the House Government and Transportation committee where Representative Faught and especially Representative Randy Terrill (R-Moore) presented the amendment and then proceeded to demolished all the arguments against the measure.
It was good to see so many of our allies attend the meeting. There were members from OK-SAFE, The Oklahoma Minutemen, The John Birch Society, Immigration Reform in Oklahoma Now (I.R.O.N.) and of course OCPAC there wanting to lend their support. Of course there were those on the other side of the issue, especially the Hispanics and a few of the tribal leaders as well as some from the Muslim community.”

I have thought this to be true for a long time. Despite what the liberal media paints, it is obvious to me that in the conservative/liberal fight, the ones with all the anger and hate are the militant liberals. This is true whether you are talking about homosexuality, border protection/illegal immigration, abortion or a host of similar "hot topics" in this arena.
Great post! Thanks for sharing!
Please feel free to cross post this.
Awesome! Twana consider yourself my point of contact in support of Sally Kern.

ROCK ON!!!
1. Sally Kern's and her supporters hates homosexuals. [NOT TRUE]
2. We don't like mexicans so we passed a law to keep illegal aliens from living here. [TRUTH IS THE ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING HERE, THEY BROKE OUR LAWS WHEN THEY CAME HERE ILLEGALLY]
3. We treat muslims bad because we won't hire people who speak farsi at the tax payers expense to allow them to take a drivers test in farsi. [IF THEY DON'T WANT TO SPEAK OUR LANGUAGE (ENGLISH) WHY ARE THEY HERE?]
Man when it rains it pours. The hits just keep on coming! But we are not about to back down to those who want cower us. NOT HAPPENING!
Great idea about collecting untruthful news stories and counter them with truthful news stories. I guess I should start a scrap book. All of your suggestions are perfect. Thank you.
I'm pretty much proud of our state too. We have a lot of people moving here from all over the country. What I usually hear for reasons is "This (Oklahoma) is one of the very few family friendly states left." Hopefully this will be a beginning for all conservatives in all states to stand up to those who want to force their intolerant agendas on us.
Truth be told, the gay political pressure is loud - but those who stand with her on these issues are many. There are so many people who want the truth and are willing to stand up for it, we just don't hear about these good people until the loud obnoxious groups start demonizing the Sally Kerns of our country. It should be the other way around.
"We treat Muslims badly..."
That is the correct English declension of the adjective, "bad". "Badly" is the adverbial form of "bad", and is the correct form to place as the modifier of the word, "treat" - in this case, used as a verb. You have used the adjectival form of the word, "bad". Grammatically speaking, I could pick your entire sentence apart, but I'll spare you the "red marks".
I presume that you are a native English speaker? Therefore, having taken English language classes all the way through school, you should already know all this. I taught English in Montessori schools, as well as tutored all grades for several years. I am constantly appalled by the mangling of the English language by "educated" adults. The American people's grasp of the language should be far better than it is.
I suggest looking to your own house, first, rather than criticizing the language skills of immigrants to the US - many of whom can already speak several languages through necessity, and have (or will learn) better English language skills than most Americans. If you have ever lived in another country, like I have - and have had to gradually learn another language from scratch, perhaps you would display more empathy. However, I highly doubt it.
Also you are blocked from my blog.
That last retort was the kindest I could give. I won't bore or burden you with the previous history between myself and this person, let's just say, I've been there and done that and I have no desire to do that again. It's of no value.
